This soup warms you, nourishes and gives power in the cold season!
Inspired by my visit to the Viennese soup restaurant Suppito, in early October 2015, and by their magnificent 5-elements-soup cookbook : "2 women 5 elements and 44 soups" (Suppito: 2 Frauen 5 Elemente und 44 Suppen ) , I decided to create my own 5 element soup creation that I put together in a "best-of-mode" from several recipes.
But I'm still asking myself why TCM and raw food actually don't go together. The TCM says: Eating cooked food takes less energy for digestion. Raw food experts beliefe, that raw is better for our digestion, because raw food has more enzymes than the cooked food. Anyway - I love raw soups, because they provide me with pure energy - and they are quickly prepared - just like green smoothies. You can also use the raw soups for weight loss or detox, if you want. And if you want to have a properly balanced diet schedule, follow this rule and alternate red, green and yellow soups in your diet.
Raw Sweet Potatoe Soup with 5 Elements
1 sweet potato, peeled and diced
2 tablespoons coconut oil melted,
200 milliliters of coconut milk
Small, red pepper, coarsely chopped
1/2 red chilli deseeded,
1 tablespoon grated ginger
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ lime squeezed,
1 orange, peeled
1 teaspoon of turmeric
100 milliliters of hot water
Put all ingredient into a blender until the soup is smooth - if necessary, you can add some more water. Garnish with finely chopped red peppers.You can enjoy the soup slightly warmed (45 degrees Celsius) - which i would recommend.
